A visit to the Ohana Steakhouse Parking Lot shows a sign and Japanese artwork. A few images of the huge propeller or water screw that was salvaged by Mr Borchers of Thwaites Restaurant and Marina. I was told it is from the S.S Keansburg. A visit inside of Saint Mary's Star of the Sea Holy Roman Catholic Church shows me a number of the statues of Jesus, Mary and St. Joseph are missing! Another panorama of Eastcesther Bay/ City Island Channel in the Autumn shows many colorful trees! Park workers fix drainage pipes under Catherine Scott Promenade at City Island Park. A visit to Belden Point shows a new Huge Parrot Stick Nest made by our local Monk Parakeets and an image of the two love birds a pretty green! While installing new watermains and sewers on City Island Avenue I bugged the excavators for some rare Blue Clay, but saw none. Drat! A sign hung on a waterpipe frame at Grace Episcopal Church is for The City Island Theater Group. The Lido is a dining catering hall for weddings and has an ornate outside. Lido means the Beach. The whole avenue is being dug up. Wish me luck in getting some rare blue City Island Clay that was used for making blue plates and dishes 100 years ago. Such tableware is valuable today! Sorry if I sound like I am with National Geographic Magazine.....
The house at 604 City Island Avenue is where I rescued an elderly couple after an ice storm, before they almost died of Hypothermia! It is an honor for me to serve my community........

Autumn in New York...... Colors of the Fall......
A visit to the old little league field in Pelham Bay Park shows Autumn in New York's pretty Fall colors, The Sun shines down on the NYPD Rookies who are training at Rodmans Neck Outdoor Range, Two signs point home to City Island at the City Island Traffic Circle, A historic marker near Park Drive. A drive down Belden Street to the dead end that was fenced off. Duryea House and bungalow, Johnny's Reef Restaurant parking lot shows more of Duryea house and southern end of City Island Harbor and Long Island Sound.
I saw Atlantic Puffins on that seawall at Belden Street in 1986. A very rare sight.
I have no idea, why one piccy had green sky. It was not green, so it must be a glitch.
More to come, tomorrow, if Sunny.
Birds are nothing more, than love, covered in feathers.........
Lots more to come!
Please send me any suggestions about improving this website to Minneford Siwanoy at 4q2a@optonline.net
Yes, I am aware some images, are not working.

The house on the Northwest corner was owned by Esposito. It has a tree with a bright red Fall foliage.
This 3 floor white house on the northeast corner is Barron house. My Dad says Labor Union leader George Meany lived in there. The local historical society claims Meany owned the house!
Some more Autumn colors of the Fall on Ditmars Street and King Avenue.
City Island has very High Speed Nor'easter winds that blows the leaves off of the trees before they can be fully appreciated.
I promised you people, I'd show you, Autumn in New York.
By the way.... You now have piccys of Spring, Summer and Fall at the City Island Bridge.

The City Island Library.....
"Remember them as they were, then write them off!" - Ernest Hemingway, former City Island resident.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ernest_Hemingway
In local news, The NYPD says it shut down the City Island Pub due to drug dealing again. They claim it is for good. We will see. City Island has a Methodist Priestess. I visited Buddy's Hardware. He is still competitive with Home Depot and I'd just rather give him my business, than go to Gun Hill Road or New Rochelle. He wound up buying the store back, after he sold it. He doesnt wanna live in Florida also.
My next Nikon camera will be...... Nikon Coolpix P4 8 Megapixel......

Another panorama near the bridge shows Fall colors at or past peak.
The most colorful trees get imaged around the school.
The front of the Ohana Steakhouse. This was known as King Lobster and The Riviera Restaurant.
Images of Bowne Street East shows a new steel gate and a sunken sailboat mast underwater.
The City Island Garden Club put up a new beautiful blue and gold welcome sign.
Some colorful trees at The School of Saint Mary's Star of the Sea.
I went there for Catechism or Release Time. Sunday School.
King Avenue and Minneford Avenue are imaged.
One images shows two signs, the closer sign says City Island Park and the other says Catherine Scott Promenade.
A Red Maple glows in a beautiful scarlet color every Autumn on East Ditmars Street in this time lapse over weeks...
Come with me to City Island and The Bronx... See what I am seeing...... Learn what I am learning..... Know what I know...... See City Island's little secret places and statues and paintings.... Have fun visiting this small island in Long Island Sound........ This is Family Fun..... G-Rated...... Kids Safe Website............
I have this whole area, in my lens!
Birds are nothing more, than love, covered in feathers.........
Here is a blue version of the oval shaped CI sticker, modeled after the stickers used to identify international sportscars nationalities. These stickers are still available at the City Island Diner for $2 each. I never got the green version.
This Seagull eating a Starfish image is copyrighted and shown under the fair use rules, whatever they may be.
This movie poster was photographed here on City Island aka Cinema Island.

They built a new house next to the renovated storefront formerly known as "Little Skipper Vegetables" back in the 50's and 60's.
I went to the Diner on Fordham Street for some breakfast and snapped these paintings.
I also found the ferry about to leave for Hart Island.
Then I drove into the muddy yard of what used to be G&G Marina back in 1958, then IUC and I dont know who owns it now.
I drove and risked getting stuck and muddied up my tires but the images here are worth the fun!
Regarding my tresspass there.
Forgive us our tresspassess as we forgive those who tresspass on private property to get great images!"

Audrey & Cyrus aka Bernie & Beatrice cannot get much food on the west side, due to ice floes.
City Island Winter with snow! February 2007! Yayyyy!
I just showed all of you the four seasons on City Island, New York!
This house at 228 Ditmars was built by the late John Rosa around 1967. After he died, they buried him next door in Pelham Cemetery. He is now buried 30 feet south of his bedroom! He did not move very far. He is in with the Anderson family plots. |

The "City Island" Island Current,
Post Office Box 6,
City Island Station,
Bronx New York 10464.....
$10 per year
This is an unpaid endorsement and advertisment of the Island Current.
Construction at Ambrosini Field next to the school is bad this time of year.
On Sunnier days, I walk down the sliver of East Bowne Street Beach to the mud flats near Kings Rock.
Locals notice me feeding the huge birds with some amusement.
I'll come back on a Sunny day at low tide.

This year had us with almost now snow for me to image for you guys! Well, I got lots of the bridge and main street and tomorrow I will get even more! A Winter without snow? Never!
Thers nothing to buy here during building renovations. No gas is ever sold! It is closed 24/7 !!! I dont know if the plans are for renovations or demolition and rebuilding.
An image of Temple Beth El, the only Jewish house of worship on this island. Shul's or Temples are also called Synagogues. City Island, like the rest of NYC has a large Jewish community. Shalom!

These City Island oval car bumper stickers are sold at the City Island Diner!
The green ones are at the bottom of the plastic box used to sell them in.
Late Winter at Glover's Rock also called Glover's Rocks. The smaller is higher, thus making it an ideal spotting position, before the battle.

Q Why are some images missing?
A Imageshack.us is unreliable. I am looking for more reliable image hosting.
The repair job I have ahead of me is herculean. I need help.
I wont live forever.
I hate to say this but this forums picture enlarger only seems to work great with Firefox .
It does not work good with other browsers. Sorry.
